A national influence

With the professionals of the maritime world

This project is already followed by many professionals such as some members of the Hydro's association, former sailors and maritime lawyers, now occupying positions with high responsibility. For example, the president of the French maritime cluster, of which the university of le Havre is a member, is a member of this association.

This competition also makes it possible to make known a sector of activity carrier in which the University of Le Havre is one of only to offer a training. It would be possible through regular participation in the competition to have high-level training recognized as the basis for the ranking of universities. Finally, this is an undeniable proof of the dynamism of the university at the national level.

A project that concerns more than the members of the team 

​

It is this influence itself that makes this project essential for all the students of the university and the maritime economic actors of Normandy. This is more than opening a path for all future promotions, which will have a feedback and a structure set up by our promotion. Since September, the association has been created, the project developed without a pre-existing structure. The integration of the University of Le Havre into this kind of competition may also open the way for other similar initiatives, or even lead to the holding of this type of competition in the ocean city in the years to come.

In addition, the legal trainings specific to the maritime world are now late in France in front of our Anglo-Saxon neighbors. This way of integrating with the highest international competitions is ideal to make recognize the quality of our trainings.

Finally, we are currently actively seeking grants to carry out this project, whose price per participant has been reduced to the minimum possible, even as some competing universities organize and finance the entire trip of their team.

 

Mediatisation

To carry out this project, the association uses and will use many media, where the name of our partners appears. To quote only the newspapers, articles will be published in "Le Marin", "Jeune Marine", "Marine Marchande Informations", "Mer et Marine", "Ouest France", etc ...

The team also wishes to participate as often as possible in fora and conferences. More, the team hope to make some presentations on some different themes in exchange for grants, where, once again, the identity of our partners will be represented. This kind of events attract many companies, these will then have a very positive image of the University of Le Havre and our education.

An international influence

Beside others universities

​

French trainings in maritime law are late on the international level, dominated by anglo-saxons, although we have un France some societies of high influence as the Bureau Veritas ou Helvetia insurances.

In front of our team, we will have to meet and to compete with the most prestigious Universities, as the University of Singapore itself, the University of Hong Kong or the King’s College of London. It is an honour for a team coming from a smaller size and reputation to face them on equal footing.

Beside maritime world professionals

The most influents actors of the maritime world observe closely this competition. Indeed, the competition judges are themselves recognized professionals. The subject is inspired by real facts and so, shipowners, charterers, brokers, etc. take a close lookout to the positions taken by the participating teams.

Moreover, some of these professionals have never even heard of Le Havre, however second French port. This is a unique opportunity to remind them of the existence and dynamism of the ocean gate! 

 

 

A project anchored in the current situation

The team comes from very different formations

Today, working as a team of people with very different profiles is an essential value sought by recruiters. This is easily noticed by competitions and other events created between schools.

The team is composed of publicist lawyers, privatists and a former Merchant Navy student, each one having his own specialty. We are already demonstrating our ability to work together, with all our different points of view. Added to this is the organization of a complex project from the beginning to the end!

 

The 500th anniversary of Le Havre

The city of Le Havre wishes to shine during the 2017 anniversary year. Give it the means to be able to do it! It is an opportunity to show the opening of the city on the world.
