The association of students in maritime law of Le Havre was created in October 2016 by two students of the master's degree. Initially, the aim of this association was to provide a structure to facilitate the organization of the inter-promotions cocktail and the financing of the project of the International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot IMLAM.

 

Other projects have been developed around these last, such as the creation of a directory of former students, a travel to the Euro-Maritime Forum and visits to maritime infrastructures, linked to our training. Today, with almost all the students of the master's degree, the association aims to see the various projects of the students succeed.

 

The international maritime arbitration competition project in Singapore is growing in scale, not only in terms of the issues it represents but also in the communication that is needed around it. Through its actions, the association leads to increase the influence of the city of Le Havre and its university on the national and international levels. It also aims at a certain integration of the actors of the maritime world and a desire of representation in a field of maritime law largely dominated by the Anglo-Saxons. As a highly specialized training, we need to create a network to remain competitive with other universities, especially those in emerging countries.

L’association des étudiants en droit maritime du Havre a été créée en octobre 2016 par deux étudiants du master. Initialement, le but de cette association était d’apporter une structure afin de faciliter l’organisation de la soirée de rencontre inter-promotions et les financements du projet de concours international d’arbitrage maritime IMLAM. D’autres projets se sont concrétisés autour de ces derniers, comme par exemple la création d’un annuaire des anciens, le déplacement au forum euro-maritime et des visites d’infrastructures maritimes, en lien avec notre formation. 

Regroupant aujourd’hui presque l’intégralité des étudiants du master, l’association vise à voir aboutir les différents projets des étudiants. Le projet de concours international d’arbitrage maritime à Singapour prend notamment de l’ampleur, non seulement par les enjeux qu’il représente mais aussi par la communication qui s’impose autour de ce dernier. 

Par ses actions, l’association conduit à un rayonnement de la ville du Havre et de son université sur les plans nationaux et internationaux. Elle vise par ailleurs à une certaine intégration des acteurs du monde maritime et une volonté de représentation dans un domaine du droit maritime largement dominé par les anglo-saxons. En tant que formation très spécialisée, nous avons besoin de créer un réseau pour rester compétitifs face aux autres universités et notamment celles des pays émergents.
